About Us

We, the sons and daughters of Abia State of Nigeria in Northern California, motivated by the desire to form an organized community of Abia people in Northern California, USA, hereby announce the formation of Abia Union USA of Northern California.  Abia Union USA  – represents all 17 Local governments in Abia State, Nigeria.

Abia Union Mission Statement

Abia State Union shall encourage its members to patronize each other and promote business ventures in Abia State.  We believe this offers the best vehicle for economic growth and opportunities for our members and Abia State in general. Abia State Union extends the hands of friendship to other Nigerian and African organizations, especially those in Northern California.

 

Abia Union Objective

Organize the Abia people of Nigeria as a unified community in Northern California for the purpose of promoting unity, interest, and progress.


• Provide and support the development and humanitarian assistance to the Abia people of Nigeria and their friends everywhere.

• Promote and share Abia’s rich cultural and social heritage through various programs and activities.

• Provide opportunities for members to celebrate special events together and support each other.

• Share our cultural heritage with communities in Northern California.
• Provide and support the development of humanitarian assistance to the Abia people of Nigeria and its friends.

• Provide Abia culture education to our children and others.


Membership

Abia Union Membership is open to every person of Abia State descent (or by marriage) living in Northern California, U.S.A. All sons and daughters of Abia State descent are deemed members of Abia Union USA of Northern California.

To join Abia Union USA of Northern California, you will need to submit your name, phone number, and current address together with membership registration fees and other stipulated dues/levies to the Financial Secretary, or fill out the application form below and submit it to the organization secretary. (Print form and cut at the dotted line)

Annual dues per member are set at the beginning of each year. Dues are payable at the beginning of each financial year or at the first meeting of the fiscal year, or at the time of registration (for new members only). Dues are paid annually.
